Mayor Boris

Yes - we know it's been a while. We decided to hold back while the Mayoral elections took place - which resulted in Mayor Boris! Nice one Boris.

We've also found out that resolving legals between us and the animators can take a lot longer than originally expected. Thanks for bearing with us. But it's all good. We just want to get the single out as soon as possible - but it's just a case of getting it all sorted before we go ahead.

In the meantime here are two screengrabs from the video - everyone that we've shown it to toally loves it!

And you'll be very excited when you hear who produced the video - but we can't tell you just yet!

RESULT!

Our good friends Andy (pictured) and Dave were on the way to Wembley on Sunday and bumped into our man Boris!

They had a good chat about the single and the fact they were off to watch Cardiff City in the FA Cup Semi Final. Cardiff won btw.

Video finished!

As a quick note we've seen the finished video and it's an absolute cracker! :-)

We should be able to put up some screen grabs pretty soon.

The video is in production!

A household name is onboard to do the video, which is an animation. We've seen some early versions and we think they're fantastic! Definitely a winner!

A few things are being tied up so we're looking to release just after the Mayoral elections on 1st May.

Stay tuned.

We might give you a sneak preview of the club remix that's been doing some serious damage whenever it's been played out.

Boris single to be released next year!

Lots of people have been in contact with us asking if the single was going to be released as a potential Christmas number 1. We can reveal this was never our intention - it is one of the worst times to go for the number 1, especially when you are upagainst the likes of the X-Factor drivel.

Yes some press did run with that story that Boris was going for the xmas number 1, but we never said that to any journalist. They just made up the story themselves.

If you are going to buy an xmas single we'd say go for either Shaun the Sheep or Malcom Middleton.

We are releasing the Boris single next year for a couple of reasons. We have one very big reason for this. We're keeping it under wraps at the moment - we'll reveal all in 2008.

We recommend you mention that Boris is releasing a hit single during your Christmas dinner and watch gran's false teeth pop out with excitement!

Have a great Christmas and New Years Eve - and yes we'll be playing the club version of Boris single to the masses in our NYE DJ sets! :) (You'll be getting a sneak peak of this club mix very soon!)

Hold tight - 1000 and counting. Plus more national press coverage!

Wow! We may be near tipping point for this internet campaign. We've hit the glorious 1000 mark with emails flying in and massive numbers hitting the website and listening to the Boris track every minute.

What caused this great acceleration in interest?

It was kick started by the infamous Guido Fawkes political blog that picked up on the story, and ran a lead piece "Boris Bombs the Bass" early this morning.

Next to pick up on it was another lead piece on The Times Online website cleverly entitled "You've come a long way, Boris"

Shortly after that The Daily Telegraph added a piece to their blogs page.

Also helping to spread the word is the Facebook group which now has over 350 members and the numerous appearances on some really varied blogs and forums.

Then again the Henley Standard ran a feature in their diary section which probably accounts for 90% of our internet traffic.

Actually, looking at our web stats we've only had 1 click from that particular source. And that was probably a mistake. But thanks for writing the article. ps I don't think we've ever been described as 'Disc Jockeys'. Nice.

What next? Who knows? Or maybe we do, and we're just not telling you yet... Keep it locked.

    500 and counting

The word is starting to spread! We now have over 500 emails of support, over 200 Facebook members and 300 odd friends on Myspace.

The surge started when The Daily Telegraph ran a lead article on the Boris Johnson single last week. We've also started to see lots more people writing about the single on various forums and blogs.

We particularly like the News Hour blog for their theories on who is behind the Boris single:

So keep telling people about the single on forums, keep blogging, remember to invite all your friends to join the facebook group and more essentially get people to sign up with their email address. Collectively we will have a smash hit!

Site update: We've added a few quotes that have been emailed to us and also appeared across the internet.

    Richard and Judy!

A little while ago when news of the Boris single first leaked out, Boris Johnson was a guest on the mighty Richard & Judy TV show.

The production team got in touch with us as they wanted to play a clip of our track. We politely declined as the track was still in production.

For the last question Richard Madeley asked Boris about the 'rap record'. (Richard's description - not ours)

It was classic R&J moment as their production team put together what they thought the track would sound like. It sounded pretty lame, especially the cheap drum sample they used. I'm sure whatever researcher hastily put it together was promptly relieved of their duties.

We missed the opportunity to record it and thought it was lost to TV heaven.

    Or so we thought.

We weren't going to mention it in this blog because, well, no one would believe us if we didn't have the proof. And frankly it's a bit embarrassing to say we couldn't get the VHS recorder working in time.

Behold! Our saviour has arrived! Leo C is his name. Let us honour him! A moment of silence if you will. Leo is a big boris fan, and also a fan of our campaign.

Leo got in touch with us. Not only did he record the Richard and Judy interview with Boris. He's gone and flippin' cut up a funny video to go with it.

    Witness the magic!

    Boris in da Telegraph

A bit of a mini celebration is in order! We now have over 200 emails of support without any big push from us yet. Plus we've had our 1st piece of printed news!

In today's The Daily Telegraph we are the lead article on page 6 of the Spy column.

The Telegraph journalist is one of the very few people to have a copy of the full Boris track and they said it was "Fantastic". Like the comment from Boris too.

Remember to tell all your friends about the Boris site and get them t
